Inlandsbanan takes you on an adventure where you will discover the Swedish nature's variations from Gällivare in the north to Östersund and Mora in the south.

Experience the Swedish inland in a way you never did before - from the north to the south. Inlandsbanan takes you to a unique cultural environment with stops at our golden spots along the way. During the journey you will stay in Gällivare, Jokkmokk, Vilhelmina and Östersund, before finally arriving in Mora in the county of Dalecarlia the last day of your trip. 

The train runs through landscapes with abundant wildlife, where Sweden's four big predators live: bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine. If you are lucky you may get a glimpse of them. There is also plenty of reindeer, elk and beautiful birds of prey along the tracks. During the trip, we will make a stop at the Arctic Circle.

DaY 1 - Gällivare

Welcome to Gällivare and the start of your package tour along Inlandsbanan. Depending on when you arrive in Gällivare you might have time to discover the rich culture and beautiful nature. In the evening we highly recommend a guided tour in Gällivare where you will experience stunning views, learn about the history of Gällivare and also might catch the midnight sun.

Day 2 - Jokkmokk

After an early breakfast at the hotel Inlandsbanan departures towards Jokkmokk, which takes about 1,5 hours. In Jokkmokk there are lots to see and do. Visit Jokkmokks Tenn and see they make these amazing tin handicrafts. Entrance to the Swedish Mountain and Sami museum Ájtte, is included. On the way from the hotel to the railway station you can buy sami handicraft and nice souvenirs at the local market.

Day 3 - Inlandsbanan to Vilhelmina

In the morning the train that will take you through Swedish Lapland to Vilhelmina departures. Just south of Jokkmokk you will cross the Arctic Circle and you will later pass Moskosel with the navvy museum "Rallarmuséet".

Day 4 - Culture rich Vilhelmina

In Vilhelmina you will have time to visit both Hembygdsmuseet museum and the old church village Kyrkstan before the train towards Östersund departures. You will now leave Swedish Lapland and in the evening arrive to the residential city of the county of Jämtland - Östersund, by Lake Storsjön.

Day 5 - Summer city Östersund

Östersund is marketed as the winter city, but it is also a beautiful and friendly summer city with a wide range of activities. You can take a walk to Jamtli outdoor museum where you meet people and environments in a historic setting. Or why not discover the city of Östersund on your own? Maybe look for the Great Lake beast in the sea! There are plenty of excellent restaurants and cafeterias when you get hungry or need to rest your legs.

Day 6 - Östersund - mOra

After a tasty breakfast at the hotel, you board the train for the last leg of the journey with Inlandsbanan, which marks the end of the tour. The train will take you through the county of Härjedalen where you will come real up close with the wilderness when traveling through bear forests before arriving in Mora by lake Siljan.
